TL;DR
In order to become a passionate software tester, software testing alone doesn’t cut anymore. You need to invest to become expert in some new developing business domain. This post is based on a remarkable book written by Chad Fowler, The Passionate Programmer.
Software testers need to ask a lot of questions. In order to ask important questions, they need to know the business domain of application under test. They say that there are no dumb questions, but if you want to be a passionate software tester, you need to do your business domain homework.
What about the new development business domain? For example, you could start studying machine learning, blockchain or payment hot technologies. These are just a few of them.
Doing that, you would do your homework for the interview with a company that develops the product in that new domain. And you will be prepared for meaningful conversation.
